Covid Help Commitment to Schools
In response to the growing number of parents out of work, unable to work with children home, families facing food insecurity and other needs across the city, in May 2020, NCJW Nebraska raised money and worked closely with all area school districts Emergency Assistance Funds to meet some of those needs. The district administrations and counselors have passed those funds along to students and families in need of food, PPE, and other supplies.

“Keep them Warm” Campaign
In October 2020, NCJW found a larger than normal need for winter gear for OPS students. With assistance from Temple Israel and Beth El synagogues, as well as through our membership, NCJW was able to donate warm coats, gloves, hats, and funds to three OPS schools with students in dire need. In all, more than 20 bags of new and used items were provided to Kellom, Jackson, and Castelar elementary schools. The students and administration at these schools were extremely thankful to NCJW for this gift.
